Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. -Albert Einstein : We are prone to over thinking. Sometimes we keep thinking about what happened in the past and sometimes we keep worrying about what’s going to happen next. What do we do in the process?? Miss out on Today. So, it’s prudent to learn from yesterday but not over think it. Plan for tomorrow but don’t worry too much. No amount of thinking or worrying can change what happened in the past or what’s going to happen. Instead do something “Today” that will help improve you shape your tomorrow.
Learning is a gift. Even when pain is your teacher. -Maya Watson : We learn from various sources. Our parents, teachers, books, friends and most importantly life itself. We go through ups and downs. Deal with various emotions. Just think back and see which experience taught you the most. The one that comes to your mind will more often than not be a situation or experience which hurt you or pushed you to your limits. When everything goes our way, we ignore a lot of things but when we are forced beyond our limits, we remember each and every moment and what we learnt from it. So, pain is a great teacher. Be it emotional, physical or both.
Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. -unknown : It’s obvious isn’t it?? We traverse treacherous roads to reach the top of a mountain. But the view from the top makes the journey worth every bit of it. Same applies to our lives. People who go the extra mile, take chances tend make a mark for themselves. We have numerous examples in our history to prove that.
Your best teacher is your last mistake. – Dr A P J Abdul Kalam : This is the one of the best quotes ever. Yes, our last mistake is our best teacher. Why and how? For one, it is still fresh in our mind. We have a chance to go through and amend the mistakes as opposed to mistakes that happened in the past which we can introspect on and not repeat but do not have a chance to amend them.
If you want to shine like the sun, first burn like the sun. -Dr A P J Abdul Kalam : Hmm…well, this one defines the person who actually said this in the first place. Dr Kalam is an inspiration to millions across the globe. A small town boy who worked really hard, became a scientist, lead atomic research and later became the most loved and respected President of his country. Mind you not just a President but the most loved and respected one. He actually burned like the sun and then spread light into the lives of many around him just like the sun spreads light on this earth.
Kind words are short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless. -Mother Teresa : How true…words can make or break a person. A kind word has the potential to brighten someone’s day. A simple smile, a kind gesture, a compliment, an encouraging word is all we need most of the time.
Be happy in the moment, that’s enough. Each moment is what we need, not more. -Mother Teresa : No matter what life throws at us, we can always make the most of it. There is a always a reason to smile. We just need to make up our mind to focus on the good and live that moment. We maybe going through a very rough day but a bunch of roses or child’s toothless laugh has the potential to put a smile on our face.
Be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody. -unknown : Kindness is a virtue not every one can boast of. Not everybody can be kind or appreciative of others without an ulterior motive. It applies even more in today’s world. But doesn’t it feel great when someone actually does that. We are all intelligent and we can make out the genuine ones from the phony ones. So, why not say a kind word or two when someone truly appreciates you. It takes time and practice but the smile you witness on the other person’s face will encourage you to adopt it more often. Try it.
Your vibe attracts your tribe. -unknown : Ah well…need I say anything on this. Positivity attracts positivity . There are a lot of posts on positivity and the effect of positive thinking on ones life. In fact, my previous post was on this. The vibrations you send into the universe have the potential to effect the outcome. So, think positive and you’ll see that the results are positive too.
Believe you can and you are half way there. -unknown : This is so true. Whatever you do, you need to believe in it and yourself. People have a tendency of doing things just because it is the norm or because other’s said it was good. They don’t necessarily believe in it, a positive result most often than not eludes such people because when you don’t believe in something you don’t give your 100% as opposed to someone who believes in it and gives his 100% to make it happen.
